Build your scavenger hunt

Plan the experience, add stops and clues, then print a player copy and a private answer key. Your work autosaves only in this browser.

No sign-in and no public spreadsheet. Nothing you type is sent to us. Export your plan as JSON, CSV, or Excel whenever you want a portable copy.
1. Set the boundaries
2. Add stops and challenges

A strong 60–90 minute hunt usually has 8–12 dependable stops and 12–20 varied challenges. Every answer should be visible or solvable on-site.

3. Save, export, test, and print
Before game day: ask someone who did not create the hunt to walk the entire route without help. Rewrite anything they misread, cannot find, or can reasonably answer two ways.
Google Sheets opens a new sheet and copies your plan so you can paste it into cell A1.

A simpler template built for real-world hunts

  • Plan the audience, time, distance, team size, start, finish, rules, scoring, hints, and skip plan.
  • Record the exact viewing position, clue, accepted answer, hint, points, and safety or access notes for every stop.
  • Autosave privately in your browser and download a portable backup.
  • Print a player version without answers and a separate organizer answer key.

How to get a better result

Start with our guide to planning a city scavenger hunt. For a typical 60–90 minute walking hunt, aim for 8–12 public, permanent, safe stops; keep the route around 1–2 miles; mix observation questions with a few special challenges; and have someone who did not help create it complete a blind test.
